The house rules for everyone
Short version: cook safely, be honest about what’s on the plate, and treat a stranger’s home like a friend’s.
For hosts
You’re responsible for following the food, alcohol and short-term gathering rules where you live. Rules for selling home-cooked food differ by city, county and state, so check yours before charging for tickets. Many hosts frame the ticket as a shared contribution to ingredients and their time; confirm what’s allowed locally.
List every ingredient and tag the 12 major allergens on each dish. Guests rely on it. If a recipe changes after you publish, update the menu so ticket holders see it.
Don’t serve alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age. Use the age setting on your party if alcohol is part of the night.
Your full address is only shown to people holding a ticket. The public map shows an offset circle, never your door.
Food safety basics
Wash hands and surfaces often. Keep raw meat and seafood apart from ready-to-eat food. Cook to safe internal temperatures and use a thermometer. Keep cold food at 40°F (4°C) or below and hot food at 140°F (60°C) or above. Don’t leave perishable food out for more than two hours, or one hour above 90°F (32°C).
Label dishes at the table, especially anything with nuts, shellfish or sesame. When a guest flags an allergy, tell them honestly whether you can keep their plate safe.
For guests
Arrive within the window the host sets, respect the house rules, and tell the host about allergies before you book. Tickets are for the named guest. If you can’t make it, tell the host early so they can offer your seat.
Terms of use
Tadku is a marketplace that connects hosts and guests. Hosts, not Tadku, prepare and serve the food and run the event. By hosting you confirm you have the right to host at the address you list. By booking you accept the host’s house rules. Refunds for cancelled parties are issued by the host through the payment provider. We may remove parties or accounts that put people at risk or break these rules.
Privacy
We store your name, email, the parties you host or book, and the profile details you add. Hosts see each guest’s name and email for parties they host, so they can manage the door. Other guests see only first names and last initials. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. We use a single sign-in cookie and no advertising trackers.
